Please follow the instructions in Answer ID 2676: Mapping a My Book Live, My Book Live Duo, WD TV Live Hub, WD ShareSpace or My Book World on a Windows PC for assistance in manually mapping the drive letter to a share. To re-connect with the correct user name and password, you can map a drive letter to the private share and force it to connect with the correct user name and password. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to use the same credentials on your PC as you use on your My Book Live, Windows XP will connect to the network drive as a Guest user, which will prevent connecting to private shares. By doing this, you will always connect with the correct user name and will not have to re-enter your name and password to connect to a private share.
WD recommends using the same user name and password on your network drive as you use to login to Windows. When using Windows XP, a user is unable to connect to a private share on a My Book Live. See if this KB article from Western Digital helps explaine it to you. Although this artice specifies Windows XP it should relate to your issue as well. If you need to monitor events related to specific Windows object types ( Object Type ), for example File or Key, monitor this event for the corresponding Object Type. Important For this event, also see Appendix A: Security monitoring recommendations for many audit events. What OS are you trying to acces it from? If you supplied a user ID and password when you set it up that should be all you need. For 4907 (S): Auditing settings on object were changed.
